Sophomores and juniors, if you received an eligibility letter regarding National Honor Society, please remember to submit your selection forms no later than Friday at 3:15. No paperwork will be accepted after this deadline, so feel free to turn it in early. See Ms. Citta in the guidance office with any questions. 

Seniors, Thursday, April 11, 2019 is College Gear Day and it's coming up fast! Next Thursday, at 8:15 a.m. there will be a class picture taken in the large gym. BE THERE! Sibley wants to see your pathways to  your dream careers – whether it’s a technical training program, apprenticeship, the military, or attend a two/four year college! If you don’t have the gear, wear school colors.

Boys lacrosse practice starts today at 4:00 meet in the cafeteria.

Sophomore baseball players practice today from 4:15-6:15, starting in the small gym. 

Freshman softball will practice inside today after school. We will meet outside the weight room at 3:30.

Attention all Current Sophomores and Juniors: If you are interested in being one of next year's Link Crew Leaders applications can be found in the library and are due back Friday April 19th.  See Ms. Johnson or Ms. Robinson if you have any questions 

The boys and girls track and field teams were busy over spring break. The teams competed and had great performances from many new and veteran athletes. Congratulations to sophomore Caroline Anderson. At the U of M Invite she placed 1st in the high jump and broke a 10 year school record in the high jump with a jump of 5'5"! Congratulations Caroline! Boys and Girls Track and Field will meet on the track today at 3:30.

Over the weekend, the Robotics team competed in the Twin Cities North Star Robotics Tournament and made it through to the semi-final rounds.  They now rank in the top 10% of all Minnesota teams and are invited to the state robotics championship in May.  The team also won the Autonomous Robotics Award sponsored by Ford Motor Company.  Congratulations to the students and mentors on the team.

Congratulations to all Model United Nations delegates for making this one of the best Model United Nations conferences ever! Please check your school email later this week for photos and other exciting news. We're looking forward to next year's FUN MUN and encourage everyone to join us!

What an amazing finish to the March Madness Food Drive!  The AVID senior class would like to thank all of you for your generous donations that helped us contribute 959 items (resulting in 762 pounds) to the Neighbors Food Shelf.  

Ms. Noeske’s AVID class class collected 193 items with a 6.8 class average - to win the 1st place prize of a Cane’s catered lunch.  Mr. Killian’s class came in second with 192 items and a 6.2 class average while Mr. Myers’ class came in third with 129 items and a 6.1 class average.   Thanks again for all your efforts that will help our community for months to come.

TODAY IS OUR LAST MANDATORY MEETING BEFORE THE MODEL UNITED NATIONS CONFERENCE NEXT WEEK. SEE YOU IN WARRIOR HALL AT 3:15.

Prom is just around the corner and it's going to be a masquerade kind of dance! You can now purchase your tickets for prom through feepay or in the main office. If you're planning to bring a guest that does not attend Henry Sibley, please stop into the main office and pick up an agreement form.  For any questions about prom, please talk to Ms. Erchul.

All 9th and 10th grade baseball players who need a cap and jersey. Please see Mr. Fehrman immediately after school in the locker room. Cost is $40. Reminder your fundraising is due on Friday March 29. Only hand in your fundraising if it is completed.

Today is the day. Opening day of Baseball practice. All 9th graders will be going over to Heritage after school and sophomores will be in the small gym after school.

Varsity practice begins at 4:15. 9th graders take bus 191 leaving in front of Sibley at 3:27.

All baseball players 9-12 are expected to be in uniform for practice. See Mr. McCarthy for cap and jersey.

This past weekend the Speech team competed at the Park Cottage Grove Tournament. Congratulations to the following students on their accomplishments this weekend. In Original Oration Elizabeth Hernando Honorable Mention and Taylor Gonsalez Sixth Place. In Extemporaneous Speaking Lily Gleason Honorable Mention and Aaron Rajput Six Place.

Congratulations to the Sibley Winter Guard for their second place finishes over the weekend. Outstanding performances, way to go! The Sibley Winter Drumline had an incredible weekend of competition and ended in second place at the Elk River Competition on Saturday. Congrats winter drumline!

Congratulations to our band students for their fantastic performances at the Solo and Ensemble Contest last week. We had a record amount of students receive Superior Ratings at this years' contest. Sibley band had 80 entries at Solo and Ensemble, of those 80 a whopping 55 received Superior Ratings. The band students also won 4 out of 6 Best in Site awards. The Best In Site winners are : Will Ascher, Anne Monroe, Emily Inserra and Nick Bruce.

Boys golf practice will be in Coach Sebastian's room at 3:20. Please bring your computer. 

MODEL UNITED NATIONS DELEGATES: TOMORROW IS THE MANDATORY MODEL UN MEETING AFTER SCHOOL IN WARRIOR HALL. PLEASE CHECK YOUR SCHOOL EMAIL FOR DETAILS.

Don't forget tomorrow is open gym for boys volleyball.  We will be in the large gym at 7:30!  See you there!

Last chance to try lacrosse this weekend. Captain’s practice Saturday from noon-2pm at Heritage gym and field clinic Sunday from noon- 1:30 at the West St. Paul Dome. New players welcome! Team practices start on April 1st after spring break.  Sign up today!!

Attention wrestlers – Coach Young will be in the locker room after school on Tuesday the 19th to collect wrestling gear.  If you do not turn it in, you will be placed on the obligation list.

Thank you to all of you who have contributed to the AVID IV March Madness Food Drive.  We have gathered over 140 items and will be extending our drive through Monday, March 18.  Mr. McCormick’’s 3rd hour class has a demanding lead with 66 items donated while Mr. Hanson’s class is in 2nd place with 26 items.  Ms. Smalstig and Ms. Temple’s classes are tied for 3rd with 11 items collected. Please consider donating to help families in our community.  Monday will be the last day to donate and winning classes will be announced on Tuesday!

The CS:GO Team known as CS:GO Bravo 2 is looking for members to join, meet with Jeremiah Walker for details.

Attention all 9th and 10th grade baseball players. Make sure you check what time you are scheduled to work this Saturday. The work schedule is posted on the window in the Fitness Center and the locker room. Practice begins Monday March 18. Check your school email for further information.

All Baseball players who participated in arm care this week meet in the Fitness Center tonight at 4:30.

Today is SADD Health Fair- starting at noon - 3:00 students are welcome to come to the gym area either during lunches or with their classes. Please take 15-20 minutes to bring your class down to see the many resources here to share with our kids!

Attention Geometry students...Geometry will now be offered to sophomores for the third session of night school.  If you have passed one semester of geometry you are eligible to take this course and possibly keep your summer free.  Register in the counseling office ASAP. See your counselor or Mr. Karlen with questions.

The Minnesota Food Share March Campaign helps stock over 300 food shelves across Minnesota - to prepare for the most needy time of the year.  The food shelf of Northern Dakota County serves over 6,000 families with more than 45% of those served being children. Last year alone over 1 million pounds of food was offered to those in need.  There are just three days left to donate!! … Mrs. Henry’s 3rd hour AVID class is leading the donation contest with 26 items collected so far.

All 9th and 10th grade baseball players please check the windows in the Fitness Center and the locker room for this weekends Youth Clinic work schedule. Also, check your school email. If you received an email from us you do not have your forms in.

Attention Henry Sibley 10th and 11th Grade Students Interested In CAPS or Genesys Works : CAPS (Centers for Advanced Professional Studies) applications are due by the end of the day on March 15. Go to CareerCollegeReady.org and scroll down to the lower left to click on the application. There are no extensions or exceptions. Connect with your counselor for more information.

Book Club will meet tomorrow in A241 at 7:45.  Page Warriors will meet tomorrow after school in the library! Remember to turn in your obligations and pay your parking fees!!!

The March Madness Food Drive is this week!! Please help our community by bringing in non-perishable food items, hygiene items (like toothpaste, shampoo, and deodorant) - or funds to help stock our local food and provide assistance for those in need.  You can drop your food items off at your third hour classes, during lunch, or before school and make sure to indicate your third hour teacher. Our goal is to collect at least 1,000 items this week! Prizes will be awarded to the top three classes - including a Cane’s catered lunch.  DONATE ALL WEEK!

All juniors will report to the cafeteria at the beginning of second period on Friday, March 15.  We will take two class periods (Periods 2 & 3) to prepare your answer documents for the ACT.  All juniors will take the ACT on Wednesday, April 24.

Please bring two #2 lead pencils!!  You can also send your scores to four colleges for free.  There is usually a $12 fee for each college.  Have a list prepared!!

Attention all 9th and 10th grade baseball players. Practice begins Monday March 18. All forms and fees need to be in before you can practice. Also, check your work schedules for this Saturday March 16. The times you are to work are posted on the windows of the Fitness Center and the locker room.

Don't forget boys volleyball open gym is tonight at 7:30 in the large gym!  See you there!

The Boys Lacrosse Team is still recruiting new players. Stop by the information table at all lunches on Wednesday to talk with players and pick up a Warrior Lacrosse Sticker!

The robotics team had a super weekend at their first regional competition in Duluth. They finished 9th out of 60 teams going into the championship. During the championship they were one bracket from the championship match and possibly winning the championship. They also were the only team awarded the Engineering Creativity award and Bailey Hart won the Deans List award which is the highest award an individual can receive in First Robotics. Lily Pince with the help of others created a robot called the Junk yard robot which won first place and $150 prize. Way to go Lighting Turtles!

The Henry Sibley Marching Band is still accepting new members through the month of March. Come be a part of this incredible organization. The Henry Sibley Marching Band is the 2019 Parade State Champion. Band students grades 8-12 are eligible for the percussion and band spots. The color guard (flags and dance) is open to any 8-12 graders. March rehearsals are March 15 6-7:30pm and March 20 6-9pm. Contact Amy Powers amy.powers@isd197.org for more information. Fundraising is available to pay for dues. Thanks!

Any boys still interested in playing intramural volleyball?  We will be hosting open gym tomorrow night 7:30-9:30 p.m.  Come freshen up your skills and join an intramural team!

OUR FIRST MODEL UN DELEGATION MEETING WILL BE TOMORROW, TUESDAY, AFTER SCHOOL IN WARRIOR HALL. FRIENDLY HILLS AND HERITAGE WILL BE JOINING US AND WE'LL HAVE A SPEAKER FROM HAMLINE UNIVERSITY. PLEASE BRING ANY OUTSTANDING REGISTRATION FEES, T-SHIRT ORDERS AND THE $20 DELEGATION FEE, AS WELL AS COMPLETED STATUS REPORTS. SEE YOU TOMORROW MUN DELEGATES!
