Today is Day A

Reminder to turn the clock back this weekend!

Any boys’ soccer player that hasn’t turned in there uniform should bring it to room A226 today (Mr. Meyers room).

Attention athletes currently using a locker in the athletic locker room. All lockers need to be cleaned out by Wednesday, 11/7 by 3:15 pm.  At that point, locks will be cut.  You will be assigned a locker by your winter coach.  If you are not participating in a winter sport you will not be issued a locker.  This goes for both boys and girls.

Retake photos are in.  Stop by the main office to pick them up.

The Gender Equality Club is having a trivia night at 6:30 next Wednesday nights, November 7th! Make a team, find a partner, or come solo to compete!! admission proceeds will benefit Second Stork, a local organization that helps parents who are struggling financially. November 7th, 6:30 pm, in Warrior Hall!

Today is Day B

Reminder to all winter athletes…you need to be registered on feepay before you can try-out for your sport.  Make sure to get registered ASAP and that way you will know if you need a physical before being cleared to participate.

Have dinner tonight at Qdoba to support the Henry Sibley Dance Team!  Mention HSDT when ordering and a portion of your sale will go directly back to the dance team!  Times are from 4:00-8:00pm!  See you at Qdoba tonight!

Attention all varsity baseball players. We will meet after school today to do some quick field work and discuss off season programs and conditioning. Please pass the word. As always, your attendance is a team expectation.

Congratulations to Phoebe Rogers who has earned a position in the 2018 Winona University Honor Band. Way to go Phoebe!

Today is Day A

Two new Drivers Education classes have been added for late November and early December. Please pick up a registration form in the main office or in the District Office from Community Education.

Any boys in grades 9-12 interested in playing basketball this year need to attend a 30 minute meeting today after school in Mr. Linton's room. You will get information about tryouts and signing up. If you cannot attend you must contact Coach Carrier. 

There will be a wrestling Informational meeting today at 3:10 pm in small gym.  Please attend if you are interested in wrestling for Henry Sibley this winter.

This year the Uptown Art Fair is excited to partner with the Uptown Coffee Festival!  The Holiday Youth Art Fair will coincide with this popular event inside Calhoun Square on Saturday, November 17th.  Henry Sibley students are encouraged to submit their artwork.  Deadline for submitting is November 5th. See Mr. DeWoske in room D203 for more details.

Congratulations to Josie Winkel, Alexa Lutz-Chase and Derek Dean. These three musicians were named to the 2018 St. Olaf College Honor Band! Way to go Josie, Alexa and Derek!

Today is Day B

There will be a wrestling Informational meeting tomorrow at 3:10 pm in small gym.  Please attend if you are interested in wrestling for Henry Sibley this winter.

Students interested in writing and directing a Winter One Act, there will be a short meeting tomorrow after school in room A111.  If you are unable to attend, please see Ms. Ramisch sometime this week.

Only those students who receive a pass to participate in the SADD Halloween costume contest may attend the contest in the Library.

Several of our Sibley Band Students have been named to the 2018 University of Minnesota Duluth Honor Band. Congratulations to Madisyn Vanasse, Alexa Lutz-Chase, Ashley Carlson, Kaylee Robrahn, Aiden Jacobs, Annika Overvig, and Isabella Marek. These students will attend 2 days of rehearsal and give a performance on the UMD campus November 2 & 3. Way to go musicians!

Attention boys interested in playing hockey this season.  There will be a meeting in room A341 today from 3:15 till 3:45pm. 

Attention all girls interested in playing basketball for the 2018-19 winter season, there will be a mandatory informational meeting on Tuesday, October 30th beginning at 3:45 in A341. 

Any boys in grades 9-12 interested in playing basketball this year need to attend a 30 minute meeting after school on Wednesday, October 31st in Mr. Linton's room. You will get information about tryouts and signing up. If you cannot attend you must contact Coach Carrier. 

Attention all varsity baseball players and this summer’s VFW players. We will meet as a team today after school at the varsity field. We will do field maintenance and discuss off season options and conditioning. Your attendance is an expectation. Please pass the word.

Today is the blood drive! Remember to show up at your donation time, and drink lots of water today. Thanks to everyone who signed up to donate!

The warrior volleyball team would like to thank all of the student fans that came out last night and the whole season.  We really appreciated your support this year!

The cross country team competed in the section meet yesterday in their final race as a team this fall. The boys finished in 11th place overall led by Magnus Herschbach and Brad Alton. And the girls finished in 7th place overall led by Rose Dill and Jaylen Rosga. A special congratulations to Rose Dill who finished as the sixth individual overall in the girls race and qualified for the third time in her career for the state cross country meet. Rose will race again on Saturday, November 3rd at Saint Olaf College in Northfield at 11:00 AM.

Congratulations to the following band students who have been selected for the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire Honor Band to be held on Saturday, November 3: Matt Lao, Rachel Ziskin, Wakene Mojo, Ben Kirkwood, Daniel Bolin, Sawyer Inserra, Will Ascher and Calvin Millett.

The 2019 Sibley Winter Color Guard is starting their season in just a few weeks! Anyone who is interested in joining the team and returning members are invited to a practice at Friendly Hills Middle School on Saturday, Oct. 27th from 9am - Noon. Come to learn how to spin a flag, learn basic and intermediate dance technique and to get an overview of the 2019 team and show. This is your chance to be part of a passionate team of young performers! Attention all volleyball players - stop by Coach Naughton's desk to pick up your picture form today and be sure to turn in your banquet forms no later than tomorrow!

Hey volleyball fans - tonight is the night for a big win for the warrior volleyball team.  Dress in white and come out to Eastview at 7 to help us take them down!  See you there!

Drivers ed class is canceled for today.

Tomorrow is the blood drive! If you've signed up to donate, make sure you drink lots of water, eat breakfast, and bring your photo ID to the small gym for the drive.

Today is Day B

Students in your 2nd hour class today Jersey Mike's certificates will be handed out.  These are good for one Free Sub.  Any donated amount given during your visit over the next 4 days will come right back to Henry Sibley!! 

Today is the LAST DAY to sign up for the Blood Drive on Friday. Sign up during lunch or stop by the guidance office. You must be 17 or older to donate, or 16 with parent permission. Make sure to drink lots of water and eat breakfast before you donate, and bring a photo ID.

Come support two tennis super stars at state!!! Allie Prokosch and Jaelyn Orth play at 10 am tomorrow at Baseline, University of Minnesota. Come cheer loudly and proudly for your two favorite all stars.

Congratulations to the Warrior volleyball team on their victory over Highland Park last night.  Next up Thursday at Eastview and it is a "white out"!  A huge shout out to our student section last night for coming out and supporting us and we look forward to an even bigger crowd on Thursday when we take down Eastview.

Reminder to all volleyball players:  Banquet forms are due today.  See Coach Naughton in the library to pick up a form and your lifetouch pictures!

Congratulations to Michael Rosario, Derek Dean, Jessica McAllister, Isabella Marek and Phoebe Rogers for being names to the Gustavus Bjorling Honor Band. We wish you luck on your November 5th performance!

Thursday is the last day to sign up to participate in the Halloween Costume contest next Wednesday, October 31st. Sign up at lunches today.

Wear your darkest gear for your Volleyball girls. It's a BLACK OUT this evening at 5:30 for the game! Volleyball players can stop in the Library to pick up their LifeTouch pictures.

Today is Day B

ACT/College and Career Readiness day is Thursday, October 25. Seniors will receive assistance and insights for College and Career Readiness. Juniors will take the ACT practice test in Naviance.Sophomores will take the Pre ACT test. Freshmen will take the ACT ASPIRE. Seniors report to the auditorium.  Juniors, sophomores and freshmen please find your classroom location posted outside of the School Counselor's Office.

Tryouts for the Winter Dance Team are today and Tuesday, Oct 23, 3:30-6:00, Henry Sibley small gym!  All 9th-12th grade girls are eligible to tryout! No dance experience necessary - we will teach you!  Bring your positive attitude and "can-do" spirit and join one of the best teams at Henry Sibley!  Contact Coach Molly with questions!  molly.engle@isd197.org

Attention girl tennis players please stop by the activities office to pick up banquet forms.   Forms are due back this Wednesday.

There will be a meeting for any boys interested in playing hockey this  winter on Monday, October 29th at 3:15PM in room A341.

Winter is coming. If you participated in a fall sport, and are looking for something to keep you well trained through the winter, join the Nordic Skiing team. A student informational meeting will be held Tuesday October, 23rd at 3:15 in Room B205 to learn more about this great winter sport. If you are unable to attend see Mr. Friberg.

Henry Sibley Gymnastics Team will be having their pre-season meeting for Athletes and Parents on Wednesday October 24th at 6:30pm at Henry Sibley in Warrior Hall. Hope to see everything there.
