The Minnesota Food Share March Campaign is the largest yearly food and fund drive in the state.  It helps stock nearly 300 foods shelves statewide. We - the AVID 12th grade class - are teaming up with Neighbors Incorporated to restock the food shelf for our community.  We need your help!! Starting on Monday, March 11 through Friday, March 15, we will be collecting food items, hygiene products, and cash donations from your third hour classes.  We will also have drop off areas before school and at lunch. The class donating the most will earn a Cane’s Catered Lunch - with additional prizes awarded!!! So, …raid your cupboards and your piggy banks and help your community!  Your gift will provide help and hope for your neighbors who need it most.

Even though it doesn’t feel like spring, there are several spring sports starting on Monday and you must be registered in feepay before you will be allowed to practice.  Any questions, stop in the activities office.

All varsity baseball players forms must be in by Friday. Practice begins Monday morning at 7:30 a.m. 

All 9th and 10th grade baseball players your practice begins March 18. All forms  must be in before you will be allowed to practice. Please check your school email for additional information.

Any students interested in playing boys or girls golf this season, there will be an informational meeting held today. The girls meeting will be held in Coach Kienitz's room C313 and the boys meeting will be held in Coach Sebastian's room C312. The meetings will begin at 3:45. 

Congratulations to the Dakota Hawks floor hockey team who defeated the North Suburban Cougars on Tuesday.  Senior, Sage Szondy scored 3 goals in the last half of the game to seal the victory for the Hawks.   The Hawks have advanced to state and will play next Friday in Bloomington.  Best of luck to the Hawks!

Because winter doesn't want to leave us, Sibley Ski club has added one more trip on Friday, March 15.  Registration closes Wednesday, March 13.

Interested in playing Boys Spring Lacrosse? Meet Coach Scott Tapio on Friday morning at 7:45 in Room A241--there will be donuts! Also, join us for Captain’s Practice from 10am – noon on Saturday morning in the small gym and a clinic at the West St. Paul dome from noon – 1:30pm on Sunday at the West St. Paul Dome. New players welcome!

Good luck to the two BPA teams that are participating in state this week! Send them good spirits as they are off to compete today! Go get them Dan Zuckerman, Tommy Buell, Brad Alton, Caden Christiansen, Logan Woods, and Lily Stringer!

Reminder that the EWarriors will be meeting this afternoon in room A334 at 3:05 to 4:15.

Any students interested in playing boys or girls golf this season, there will be an informational meeting held tomorrow. The girls meeting will be held in Coach Kienitz's room C313 and the boys meeting will be held in Coach Sebastian's room C312. The meetings will begin at 3:45. 

Thanks to everyone who came out to support the boys basketball team last night. The Warriors season ended with a tough loss at Eastview. A special thank you to all of our seniors who battled through adversity last night and modeled what it looks like to never give up.

Tech for the spring play starts today right after school in the auditorium.  Anyone who would like to help out is encouraged to show up.

Congratulations to the CIS College Algebra students on a great performance at the U of M yesterday.  Many students earned ribbons for their modeling project.  A special congratulations to Mary Votel, Katira Lutterman and Katie Hawkins for placing second in the group presentations!

Just a reminder that the last days for reserving your spot at this year’s Father Daughter Dance is this week. You can bring your registration and money to the main office or drop it off during lunches on Wednesday or Friday this week. There will be NO increase in ticket prices this week. Round up that special guy (dad, stepdad, uncle, granddad) in your life for this wonderful event on Friday, March 15th.

Come out and support your boys basketball team as they open the playoffs tonight taking on #1 seed Eastview. The game is at 7 o'clock at Eastview High School.

Any students interested in playing boys or girls golf this season, there will be an informational meeting held this Thursday 3/7. The girls meeting will be held in Coach Kienitz's room C313 and the boys meeting will be held in Coach Sebastian's room C312. The meetings will begin at 3:45. 

Boys that are interested in joining the intramural boys volleyball league, don't forget this Thursday is the last day to register your team.  Turn your sheet in to Mrs. Naughton or fill out the google form that was emailed to you.

Because of Friday's weather, yearbook has extended the deadline for Senior Polls through lunch today.  The ballots we collect are the only official vote for Yearbook Senior Polls, so if you want your vote to count, turn in your poll today.

Reminder to Seniors...check your email!!!!!!! Fill out the Google Survey that was emailed to you regarding cap and gown sizing for graduation. If you want a cap and gown to wear at graduation, then you MUST fill out the survey!!!!

Attention all softball players! Captains practice starts today after school in the small gym! Practices will be Monday-Thursday this week from 3:20-4:45 and are a great way to get ready for tryouts next week!!

Congratulations to the following Henry Sibley Dance Team athletes for their accomplishments this year!  Metro East Honorable Mentions went to Marisa Stickler, Stella Byng and Kally Dreelan!  All Conference awards were given to Erin Kropelnicki, Isabela Everett and Ava Rohleder!  Erin Kropelnicki has also been named to the 2019 All State Team!  Congratulations to newly named Captains of the 2019.2020 Dance Team: Keke Reischauer, Kally Dreelan, Robin Moody and Ava Rohleder!

There will be a meeting for all players interested in playing softball this spring tomorrow at 3:15 in the Health Room. Players please bring $10 to purchase your practice shirt for the upcoming tryouts.

Congratulations to the Henry Sibley Winter Drumline for their second place finish at the Osseo Competition! This was a huge finish for our team! Congratulations Winter Drumline!

The Henry Sibley Winter Guard earned another 1st place finish at their competition at Irondale High School on Saturday. Way to Sibley Winter Guard!

Congratulations the Henry Sibley Symphonic Band for earning rating of Excellent at the Large Group Contest on Tuesday!

The Henry Sibley Wind Ensemble (our top band) earned straight Superior ratings on Tuesday at Large Group Contest! Congratulations on this outstanding achievement Wind Ensemble!

Sibley ladies, Round up your favorite guy and make your reservations for the 28th Annual Father Daughter Dance at the Lost Spur Event Center! This year’s theme is “Western...Sparkles and Spurs”, dust off your flannel shirts, boots or cowboy hats and come together for a fun night on Friday, March 15th.  The first registration day is Thursday, February 28th during all lunches. Other registration days will be March 1st, 5th, 6th, and 7th. Tickets are $27 per person this year. Please bring cash or check. Completed registration forms and money can also be dropped off at the Main office.

Attention all Juniors: Would you like to take a practice ACT to prepare for the real ACT test this spring? The AVID team will be hosting a practice ACT  on Saturday March 16th from 8:00 am until 1:00 pm. If interested please contact Mrs. Noeske in room A325. The cost of the test is $10. Space is limited so please contact Mrs.Noeske as soon as possible. 

There will be a meeting for all players interested in playing softball this spring on Thursday, February 28th at 3:15 in the Health Room. Players please bring $10 to purchase your practice shirt for the upcoming tryouts. 

Students and teachers are invited to the Sibley Robotics Team Lightning Turtles open house on Tuesday right after school until 4pm in Tech Ed Room E113.  Come see our robot Razorback built in just 6 weeks and ready for our March tournaments in Duluth and Minneapolis.   

The boys swim and dive team competed in the Section 3AA championships last week. Zak Lao placed 6th in diving, while Connor Winkelhake placed 8th in the 100 breaststroke. Also competing and turning in best performances were: Harrison Berg, Wyatt Cook, Jonah Estall, Andrew Gotham, Peyton Hanson, Brent Karnick, Tobey Kaup, Ben Kirkwood, Drew Nielsen, Thomas Nielsen, Preston Schulte-Eppert, Carl Strohoffer, and Jake Tschida. Great season boys! 

Juniors! Are you interested in having your student voice heard at the School Board level? Are you interested in an opportunity to experience actual, legal policy making first hand? Are you interested in qualifying for a scholarship by creating direct dialogue between the student body of District 197 and the School Board? If so, you need to come to the main office and pick up an application to serve as the Student Representative to the School Board for the 2019-2020 school year. The application process opens March 4 and will close March 21. 

Attention all 9th and 10th grade baseball players. If you missed sign ups last week please see Mr McCarthy, Mr. Biczkowski or Mr Retka for your  information forms. 

Come out tonight and support your Warrior boys basketball team as they take on North St. Paul. The Warriors will be celebrating their 9 seniors, so be there to give Caden Christiansen, Grady Clem, Elijah Lonetree, Brandon Loucks, Dayton Massie, Ben Munkelwitz, Malik Spearman, AJ Stringer, and Ty Zubulake the home court advantage they need on their special night. 

Do you like playing video games? Henry Sibley is looking at starting an E Sports Club for competitive gamers.  Come to our first meeting on Thursday the 28th in room A334 at 3:15pm. 

Attention all boys interested in playing volleyball this spring...we will be having an intramural volleyball league Tuesday nights from 7:30-9:30 p.m.!  You can form your own teams or sign up with Mrs. Naughton in the library to be signed up on a team.  Stop by the activities office or library for a sign up sheet.  All sign ups are due by March 7th which is next week!

Reminder...Session 2 of Night School begins TODAY! This week only, Night School will be on Monday and Wednesday, beginning at 3:30pm. The following weeks, it will be held on Tues and Thurs nights. 

Congratulations to Senior Katy VanNatta who finished her gymnastics season this past Saturday at the State Tournament representing Henry Sibley on the Vault. She scored a 9.5 which is the highest score she has received all season.  The Gymnastics team had a fantastic season finishing 2nd in the conference. Way to go Warrior Gymnasts!

Joining the Track & Field team this spring or interested in hearing more about track and field? The interest meeting is scheduled for today at 3:15 in health room. Anyone interested in participating in track and field this spring should plan to attend the meeting. Come meet the coaches and captains and hear about the upcoming season. Hope to see lots of new athletes!

The NHS Spring Blood Drive is March 1st! Sign up during lunch or in the guidance office. If you are 16, you will need to get your parents’ permission. If you are planning to donate, make sure to eat a good breakfast, drink lots of water, and bring a photo ID. We hope to see you there! 

Congrats to the girls basketball team on their 79-47 victory over Hastings on senior night! The team was led by Tori Nelson who scored a single-game record 51 points and 16 rebounds!

Congratulations to the following Henry Sibley students who wrote an essay on the topic:

"If all the world's problems were solved, would optimism still be necessary?" and won the following awards: Micah Dove -6th place, Ruby Filhart - 5th place, Elizabeth Castillo- Flores - 2nd place  and Taylor Gonzalez - first place.  Sibley had four students finish in the top six places out of about one hundred entries! Taylor's paper now advances to regional competition which includes papers from Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota and Manitoba Canada.  Good luck Taylor!

The boys basketball team lost a hard fought battle 91-85 at Hastings on Friday night. Malik Spearman had 37 points and 16 rebounds, and Brandon Loucks kept the Warriors close with his hot 3 point shooting. Please come out tomorrow night as the Warriors will celebrate their 9 seniors on senior night against North St. Paul.

Daily parking purchases will be limited to only 20 spots due to the excess snow. Students that bought a year or semester pass will have preference. The 20 daily passes will be sold on a first come first serve basis. Get here early if you want to use the student lot, otherwise you will have to park in Warrior Drive. 

Don't forget to turn in your GOFA Games sign up to the activities office or online TODAY! The games are tomorrow and we need you to sign up to make sure the event will run! The cost is $4 per team of 4 students! 

Boys lacrosse captains practice is cancelled for tomorrow.  First practice to be held March 2nd.

The Henry Sibley award winning Winter Guard will host a competition tomorrow at 1pm in the main gym. Come check out this awesome activity and our incredible team!

A big welcome to all the 9th and 10th grade boys who signed up for baseball yesterday. We are excited you chose to be a player in our program. If there were any boys who missed sign ups due to a conflicting schedule please see Mr McCarthy, Mr Retka or Mr Biczkowski for information. Thank you.

Come support the girls basketball team as they take on Hastings for Senior Night! JV is at 5:30 and Varsity is at 7. Jam the gym for the last regular season home game!

Zak Lao finished 6th and Andrew Gotham finished 14th in the Section 3AA diving championships last night. Both divers turned in outstanding performances. The boys swimmers compete tonight in the Section 3AA championships in Apple Valley.
