Bond Referendum Logo - Vote May 8The community is invited to attend an Information Open House on March 6 or March 12 to learn more about the May 8 Referendum. The events will be held at Henry Sibley High School from 6-8 p.m.

District representatives will be on hand at an information fair to explain the ballot request and answer questions about the proposed building projects at all of the district’s elementary and middle schools and the high school. Tours of the high school will be available throughout each night.

The School Board has placed one funding question on a May 8 ballot to request authorization to issue building bonds for school additions, renovations and repairs. The bond proceeds will be used to:

- Conduct building and mechanical maintenance
- Modernize outdated classrooms and educational spaces
- Improve fine arts and athletics spaces
- Address handicapped accessibility and school parking lot safety

If voters approve the ballot question, the tax impact to a district homeowner with a home value of $237,200 would be approximately $87 per year ($7 per month).

More information, including voter registration materials and additional details regarding the tax impact to homeowners, is available on the District website at www.isd197.org/bond.
