To celebrate Henry Sibley High School’s Class of 2018, School District 197 would like to present the "Sibley Senior Spotlights" — interviews with seniors who have shown commitment to academic excellence and personal achievement. Students share stories about their favorite memory from their time at Sibley, a teacher who helped encourage them, advice for younger students about high school, and more!

Katherine Perry – Always eager to learn about places, people, events and beyond as a child, Katherine Perry’s curiosity hasn’t wavered through high school and she says Henry Sibley has provided her with opportunities to explore through clubs, sports and classes. This fall she will attend Lawrence University in Wisconsin.  Read more.

Charlie Rutman– Few high school students master the balance of academics and extracurricular activities in the way that Charlie Rutman has. While taking many rigorous classes at Henry Sibley, Charlie played tennis and basketball and was involved in a number of various clubs and organizations. He will attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison this fall.  Read more.

Bella NelsonReflecting back over her years as a student, Bella Nelson says she has many happy experiences to remember. This fall, Bella will attend Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois where she plans to major in both International Business and Spanish. Read more.

Myles Fleming Perseverance and determination are two characteristics that could be used to describe runner Myles Fleming. Since middle school, Myles has devoted countless hours every week braving the elements while pushing himself to become one of the top runners in the state. Read more.

Ayan Daud This fall Ayan Daud will attend Augsburg University in Minneapolis where she has been awarded a four-year, full-tuition scholarship. She plans to study medicine and hopes to become a physician's assistant. Read more.

Laura Friedmann Laura will attend North Dakota State University this fall to start her journey toward becoming a mechanical engineer. Read more.

Ash Rundquist Senior Pic

Ash Rundquist – Ash has a passion for music and is a member of several of Henry Sibley’s bands, where he has emerged as a highly talented tuba player. His skill as a musician has also led him to perform outside of school in several honor bands and competitions. Read more.

Keyla Betanzos Throughout high school, Keyla Betanzos’ strong desire to help others and willingness to try new things guided her decisions as she prepared for the future. This fall Keyla will attend Mankato State University where she plans to major in either Biology or Nursing.  Read more.

Andro Khalil This year Andro was part of Henry Sibley’s first group of students to participate in an internship program coordinated through Genesys Works. This fall, Andro will attend the University of Minnesota Twin Cities where he will major in Management Information Systems (MIS). Read more.
