On Sunday, June 24 the band was named Grand Champions at the 34th Annual Vikingland Band Festival in Alexandria, Minn. They earned this honor by outscoring 16 bands from across the state, including four larger groups in the AAAA class above them.

Considered the top parade competition of the summer, Henry Sibley also won the Class AAA Champion title, along with Best Color Guard and Best Wind Section in their class at the festival.

The last time Henry Sibley won Grand Champion in Alexandria was in 1986.

Beyond the Alexandria festival, the band has performed well in other competitions this summer:
- Lake Crystal Battle of the Bands - First place in Class AA and Best Color Guard award.
- Harry Wenger Band Festival in Owatonna - First place in Class AA, along with Best Color Guard and Best Winds awards.
- Lake Waconia Band Festival - First place in Class AA, as well as Best Winds, Best Color Guard, and Best Percussion awards.
- Rockin Rogers Days Parade - Grand Champion, Best Percussion, Best Color Guard, Best Winds Section and the Spirit Award.
- Roseville’s Rose Fest Parade - Grand Champion, Class AA champion, Best Color Guard and Best Winds

Up next, the marching band will travel to Washington, D.C. to perform in America’s National Independence Day Parade on July 4 as the official representative of the state of Minnesota. The parade will take place on Constitution Avenue before hundreds of thousands of spectators.
